The Methodist Church of Sri Lanka looks forward with prayer and anticipation to Annual Conference 2026, one of significant gatherings in life of Church.
As representatives from Methodist congregations, ministries, circuits, and districts come together, Conference provides opportunity to worship together, reflect on Church’s journey, review its ministry and mission, and prayerfully discern way forward.
Guided by God’s Word
Theme for this year’s Annual Conference is drawn from Psalm 119:105:
“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”
This powerful verse reminds us that God’s Word remains source of direction, wisdom, and hope. In changing world, Church is called to remain rooted in Scripture while faithfully responding to needs and challenges of communities it serves.
Strengthening Methodist Fellowship
Conference will welcome representatives and guests from wider Methodist and ecumenical family.
Ms. Sheila Norris, representative of Methodist Church in Great Britain, will join gathering, along with Rev. Dr. D. A. Krishmawati and Mr. Bakang Moseki, representatives of United Evangelical Mission (UEM).
Conference will also welcome Rev. Dr. D. R. Manicadevaraj, President of Tamil Methodist Conference, Malaysia.
Their presence will provide valuable opportunities for fellowship, mutual learning, and strengthening relationships across wider Methodist family.
Launch of New Methodist Church Website
Special highlight of this year’s Conference will be anticipated launch of new Methodist Church of Sri Lanka website.
Website represents important step forward in strengthening Church’s communication, visibility, and digital presence. It will make information about Church, its ministries, mission, history, and activities more accessible to members and wider community.
Launch will mark exciting milestone as Church embraces new ways of connecting with people and sharing its witness in digital age.
Reflecting, Renewing, and Looking Forward
Annual Conference will be time to reflect on ministry and witness of Methodist Church across Sri Lanka, celebrate work carried out through various ministries and departments, and consider new opportunities for mission and service.
It will also be time for Church to listen, learn, and prayerfully consider how it can continue to grow as faithful and relevant witness to Christ.
As clergy and lay members gather from across island, Conference will strengthen spirit of fellowship and unity central to Methodist tradition. Through worship, prayer, discussion, and shared fellowship, participants will have opportunity to encourage one another and renew their commitment to serving God and His people.
A Call to Prayer
With Conference drawing near, Methodist Church of Sri Lanka invites all its members to uphold gathering in prayer.
May God grant wisdom to all who participate, guide every discussion and decision, and lead Church faithfully into future.
As we prepare for Annual Conference 2026, may words of Psalm 119:105 be more than theme, but a guiding prayer for whole Church:
May God’s Word illuminate our path, strengthen our faith, and guide us in becoming disciples and making disciples.
Annual Conference 2026
Walking together, guided by God’s Word and led by His light.
